Silent Valley Family Camp
on September 12 -14th, 2008 our church and school families will travel up the mountain to Silent Valley Retreat Center near Idlewild and spend a few days together. These church and school campouts over the years have been both relaxing and a lot of fun. Putting up tents, cooking over propane stoves, enjoying animated conversation around kerosene lanterns, worshipping together, walking under a moonlit sky, watching children scampering on the rocks and trying their luck at fishing, are experiences which draw us closer to God and to one another. Last year, Gary Rider surprised us by cooking an upside down cake with coals from the charcoal fire. It really was a lot of fun. If you haven't signed up yet please call the church office and
sign up today! |

Come Together Sunday this year will celebrate our
50th Anniversary of First Congregational Church of
Anaheim on Sunday, September 28th from noon until 3pm. Six churches representing hundreds of people will feast on a variety of foods: homemade carne asada, tacos, rice and beans, hamburgers, corn dogs, macaroni salad, kimchi and even a roasted pig (provided by the Pacific Islander Congregation.) Choirs from the churches using our facilities will fill the air with music and children will enjoy various games and activities. I believe our lives are enriched as we worship and fellowship with Christians from various cultures. Though we don't always speak the same language our hearts are still united with God's love. Please take the time to come to these special events - you will be glad you did.
God’s Grace & Peace,
Pastor Jim Schibsted
